We need more creativity!

Creativity requires space! That’s what students of Stuttgart State Academy of Art and Design (ABK) thought when they founded the project Reallabor Spacesharing. Everyone could rent the space in the heart of Stuttgart city until July 2018 – for hours or even days. Companies could train their employees away from their daily business, students could plan their next projects, and teachers could give painting lessons. The aim of the project was to enable an intensified using of existing building through a dynamic setup.
„Nimbus was one of our sponsors for the first, temporary pilot project Reallabor Spacesharing in the Calwer Passage in Stuttgart”, explains Ina Westheiden, student at ABK. Westheiden has taken care of the proejct from the beginning on.
The more different the requirements for a space like this are, the more flexible the furniture has to be. The founders of Reallabor Spacesharing have realized this in a special way. The users can use extremely lightweight tables, chairs, sofas and cableless lights by Nimbus. Everything can be used and placed flexibly as per their requirements.
“The users loved the cableless lights, and they understood from the beginning that they could carry the mobile lights to different places! Not only did the luminaires fit to the experimental character of the Reallabor, but also to the various using scenarios”, Westheiden resumes. Through the Nimbus luminaires the space could be transformed into a workplace for several people or a seminar room within minutes, without running the danger that someone might trip over cables.
Since July 2018 the research project is on hold – not due to lack of users, but due to a modification of the building. Stay updated about the project here.
And until a new space for the Reallabor is found, you can find our cableless luminaires at the dealer near you.
